iSweep Description

iSweep - Utility that allows you to find, list, delete and backup duplicate tracks in iTunes iSweep is an easy to use program that allows you to find duplicate song files in iTunes. Once the files have been found, you have the options of listing the files, backing the files up to a directory of your choice or deleting the files. This application was started before the release of iTunes 4.7, which now allows iTunes to list tracks that have the same Name and Artist. iSweep checks both the name and the artist before calling a track a duplicate, plus allows you to also check against the Album, File Size, File Type, Bit Rate, Genre and/or Track Length using threshold. iSweep also allows both backing up and deleting of duplicate tracksIt allows you to control what is considered a duplicate based on a combination of Track Name, Album, File Size, Bit Rate, Genre, Artist, File Type, and/or Track Length with a user selectable time threshold. iSweep can also "Protect Playlists" when doing backups and deletes. This keeps your playlists from breaking. iSweep also allows you to search your hard drive for all music files that are not currently registered in the iTunes Library. It then gives you the ability to move all of the orphaned music files it has found to one location of your choice.iSweep takes the pain out of finding and removing duplicates from iTunes.iSweep also has the option to "Protect Playlists". This option keeps duplicates from being deleted or moved that are being used in a playlist. To enable the "Backup" and "Delete" options, you must first purchase a registration number by selecting the "iSweep" menu's "Register iSweep" option.
