U.S. Custom Keyboard Layout Description
A keyboard layout similar to Apple's U.S. Extended but with more accents U.S. Custom Keyboard Layout is a unique Mac OS X keyboard layout similar to Apple's U.S. Extended, but with much of the IPA and more accented letters etc. An Alt-Deadkey allows typing Alt characters even when there is no Alt key – like in a Terminal where you’d rather use it as Meta.Installation:· Drag the files UScustom.keylayout and UScustom.icns to either one of /Library/Keyboard Layouts/ or to ~/Library/Keyboard Layouts/.· Log out and log in again to complete the installation.· In the International section of the System Preferences, you can now select "U.S. custom" for the Input Menu. It is now available from in the menu bar at the top right margin of the screen.
