Easily expose the functionality of a generic instrument using a service oriented approach via a Web Service interface The Instrument Element is a new Cloud/Grid component that provides the computational/data infrastructure with an abstraction of real instruments, and Users with a more interactive interface to control them. The Tiny Instrument Element is a skeleton software that allows the possibility to easily expose the functionality of a generic instrument using a service oriented approach via a Web Service interface. The term of tiny is not referred to the kind of instrument but to the software implementation. The design is kept simple and intuitive but, hopefully, not minimal.NOTE: Tiny Instrument Element is licensed and distributed under the terms of the BSD License.
