The Linear Time/Frequency Analysis Toolbox Description

Perform time-frequency analysis in Matlab The Linear Time/Frequency Toolbox (LTFAT) is a free and open source Matlab/Octave toolbox that will help you perform time-frequency analysis. It is intended both as an educational and computational tool. The toolbox provides the basic Gabor, Wilson and MDCT transform along with routines for constructing windows (filter prototypes) and routines for manipulating coefficients Here are some key features of "The Linear Time/Frequency Analysis Toolbox": · Works in Matlab/Octave and essential parts in C for greater speed. · Basic Fourier and TF-analysis (unitary DFT, involution, twisted conv., symplectic Fourier transformation). · TF-transforms: Gabor, Wilson and MDCT · TF-Operators: Gabor multiplier and spreading representation · Support for full length windows (IIR) and finite length windows (FIR) · Windows: Gauss, Hanning etc. Canonical dual and tight windows · Spectrogram and reassigned spectrogram plots · Simple tools for working with coefficients (threshholding, N-term approx.) · Signals: Real world and synthetic signals. · Examples demonstrating the use of the toolbox. · The toolbox is Free software, released under the GNU General Public License (GPLv3). Requirements: · Matlab What's New in This Release: · Matlab MEX compilation now works under Windows. See the instructions in the INSTALL file. · More systematic naming of functions. Most importantly CANDUAL and CANTIGHT are now called GABDUAL and GABTIGHT. Other functions have changed their names in a similar fashion, but the input/output arguments are unchanged, so it is simple to upgrade. · Reassignment is a method for sharpening the spectrogram. Support for reassignment is included in the new function REASSIGN and an easy to use plot RESGRAM. Three different methods are now included for computing the instantaneous time and frequency of a Gabor transform. · New functions to work with only the positive frequencies of an FFT or DGT. This will lead to lower memory consumption and greater speed when working with real-valued signals. Support for this is not yet complete. · More code implented in C: Speadup of the general transforms and of the SPREAD* functions.
