Rename Finder Items by Pattern Description

Rename Finder Items by Pattern is a free and open source Automator action that will rename the Finder items passed to it using a wildcard pattern and a tokenized replacement pattern.Rename Finder Items by Pattern works in similar fashion to the built in Rename Finder Items Automator action, but it uses a substitution pattern and a wildcard pattern to selectively pick parts of the current file name to use in the new file name.In the replacement pattern, use a '$' and a number to substitute each wildcard match sequentionally (e.g. "foo-*-*" has two wildcards that can be used in the replacement pattern as "$1.bar.$2").
