MATLAB Plug-ins - Pack of two Matlab plug-ins with a QuickLook plug-in for MATLAB .mat workspace files and a Spotlight plug-in MATLAB Plug-ins is a free pack of Matlab plug-ins that contains a QuickLook plug-in for MATLAB .mat workspace files (Matlab.qlgenerator) and a Spotlight plug-in (Matlab.mdimporter).Both plug-ins are works in progress (most specifically the Quicklook generator lacks any localisation), but function well enough for me to make them available here.Matlab.qlgenerator is a QuickLook plug-in for MATLAB .mat workspace files. It will generate a display of the variables saved within a .mat file, along with their dimensions and data-type. Due to the need to scan the entire .mat file for variables, Matlab.qlgenerator can be VERY slow with large filesTo install the plugin, drag it into the /Library/QuickLook or ~/Library/QuickLook folder. If the folder doesn't already exist, simply create it yourself.Matlab.mdimporter is an easy to use Spotlight plug-in that will allow you to search for variable names within MATLAB .mat workspace files.To avoid overloading the Spotlight metadata store, only variable names are indexed, with one exception: if the importer identifies a character array named 'Notes', the text contents of this are also indexed.
