Energy Calculator - A simple Cocoa application that converts between energy (eV), wavenumber (1/cm) and wavelength (um) A simple Cocoa application that converts between energy (eV), wavenumber (1/cm) and wavelength (um).In addition the application calculates the bandgap of common III-V semiconductors for a user defined temperature.Convert between Energy, Wavenumber and WavelengthTo convert values of energy, wavenumber and wavelength enter the known value in the appropriate box and either hit return or press the "Calculate" button. The remaining two unknown values will be displayed.The text boxes can be cleared manually (by selecting the text and pressing delete) or by pressing the "Reset" button.Displaying the bandgap value of a known III-V semiconductorSelect the semiconductor using the pull down menu and the temperature for which the bandgap is required then press the "Display" button. The bandgap is calculated using the Varshni relation and the ? and ? values found in:Band Parameters for III-V compound semiconductors and their alloys. I. Vergaftman, J. R. Meyer and L. R. Ram-Mohan. J. App. Phys. 89 (2001) 5815.The menu's and text boxes can be returned to their original state using the "Reset" button.
