Desktop Log Description

Desktop Log - Display any logs that you choose in a single window on the desktop Desktop Log is an application to view the various system logs available in Mac OS X.How do I use it?It's pretty straight forward. Launch the application, and it will by default show the console and the system log. Everything is viewed in one window, so you won't have a ton of windows littering your desktop just to view the logs you wish to see. There is help via the Help menu, if you need any help with the options in the application. How much will it cost me?Nothing. Nada. Zilch. In other words, completely free. I'm committed to keeping all of my applications free, both now and in the future. What's New in This Release:· The look of log windows has been changed. It's a bit more "Aqua" now.· You can now have multiple windows open, and each can have multiple log files.· A new windowing scheme of sorts. Desktop Log now has three types of windows it keeps track of. Normal windows (called "Open" in the UI), closed windows (aptly called "Closed"), and background windows (called "Hidden").· The preference window was broken up. The main portion of it is now called the Window Settings window, and is use to set the various parts of the log windows. The Preferences dialog has the settings for the status menu and to hide the dock icon left, and in addition has the "Master Window List."· "Master Window List" - this holds all of your log windows in one place. You can open any from here, hide/show them, remove them completely if you decide you aren't going to open them any more, etc. etc.· There is now a "Selection Mode," where you can copy text from a log window while it is on. Note that the selection mode is independent for each log window you have open.· You can access most of the various settings in one of three places: the main menu of Desktop Log, or the status menu if you use that, or some of the settings are available in a contextual menu on the log windows. Just control-click (or right click if you have a two - or - more button mouse).· Desktop Log's identifier changed from com.dreamstatic.desklog to net.nightproductions.DesktopLog.· Help documentation was semi updated. I'll be filling this out a bit more in a future update.
