Easily connect to your email server and check how many email messages you have. Count POPular is a very simple tool that will connect to your email server, check how many messages you have and make a record of its findings.You can also view the From and Subject of recent messages. The purpose is to run in the backgroun while you work (checking your private mail, for example) and return just enough information to decide whether or not accessing your mail is required.NOTE: The Count POPular 1.0a Beta expires 31 March 2009. Here are some key features of "Count POPular": The main screen: · A list of your configured addresses to check with a nickname, the latest message count, the previous message count and the difference. Click a nickname to edit the settings, click the difference to retrieve the headers and click to Was or Now columns to select that account. · The Add account button. Click it to add a new account. · The Delete account button. With an account selected, click to delete that account - don't worry, a confirmation box takes care of accidental clicks. · The Settings button. Click to set application preferences - see below. · Start / Stop button. Click to start or stop regular POP polling. · The Check Now button that will perform an immediate check. · Quit button. The Add / Edit Account screen: · Give the account a nickname for the main screen · Enter the POP3 Server address (mail.yourdomain.com) · Enter your email username (Could be johnH or even johnh@yourdomain.com) · Enter your email password - don't worry, it is stored securely · Cancel button. Duh! · The Test button - make sure your settings work. · Save changes button. The Settings screen: · Startup in online mode. If checked, Count POPular will start polling at launch. If not, you will need to click the start button. · Bring to front. If checked, Count POPular will place its window above all others when a change occurs in any of the accounts (more or less mail than the previous check) · System alert. If checked, Count POPular will beep or flash the screen when a change occurs · Service interval, in minutes, without decimals, is the number of minutes between checks. Can be 1 to 1-million (although, what use is that?) · Retrieve headers to specify how many recent emails must be displayed. A lower number is suggested. What's New in This Release: · Added retrieve depth to review more of the message than the default headers.
