ChatForte Description

A secure collaborative framework that serves as a standalone all-in-one collaboration platform by itself ChatForte is an open source collaborative system. The system has a well-defined protocol that addresses many features missing in other collaborative systems. The protocol uses active messaging concept which defines similar messages on the client and the server with the processing capability only on the server side. ChatForte is aimed towards an extensible, robust, scalable, and a unique architecture. The system is designed in 100% Java for cross-platform deployment. Currently, the ChatForte group concentrates on the real world applications using ChatForte protocol apart from contributing to a general purpose collaborative tool. One of the applications that we are currently working on is the CFAgent. The ChatForte project is aimed at improving the online shopping experience for the customers through collaboration. Here are some key features of "ChatForte": · written in pure java (JDK 1.4) · extensible, secure protocol · data archive support · timed peer connections that can be set for each session · context based conversation · session properties for customizing each session · flexible setup using system properties file · well defined role based access control model (Administrator, chat master and the user) What's New in This Release: · This is the first release for the ChatForte project. This contains the basic features of the ChatForte protocol. You must download this software in order to work with the other projects such as CFAgent and CFWeb.
