rest-auth-proxy is a free and open-source restful ldap-authentication http server written in Java. Developers can use rest-auth-proxy to authenticate users against ldap and active directory. In essence, rest-auth-proxy was designed as an authentication proxy server between the ldap servers and the calling application. rest-auth-proxy is a cross-platform utility capable of running on any operating system that comes with Java support (e.g. Mac OS X, Windows, Linux).
