Open source planet and terrain generator written in Java planetGenesis (pG) is a Java program designed to produce models of planets and landscapes.planetGenesis is a little like Mojoworld but free (as in speech and beer) and no where near as good.NOTE: planetGenesis is licensed and distributed under the terms of the BSD License. Here are some key features of "planetGenesis": · Generation of 16 bit greyscale PNG bitmap textures as a basis for displacement for planetary bodies and terrain. · Generation of Wavefront and POV meshes and Terragen Terrain files What's New in This Release: · The planetGenesis19_api release is designed to be used as a plug-in using · the new API class and a reorganized package structure, and is not considered stable. · Reworked the drawing so that selected components are raised, and shadowed. Made the rest of the drawing consistent with the new positions. · The 3D preview was been reworked, and has a higher resolution mode and new keyboard controls. (Thanks to Sid D) · ModifiedMultifractal - more Perlin variants that can create some very nice noise patterns. (Thanks to Colin Paddock) · All the Perlin noise engines, now have extra algorithms to play with Ridged, Billowy, Simplex, Ridged Simplex and Billowy Simplex.
