libballistics Description

A C library for numerically solving exterior ballistics problem libballistics is a free, highly efficient, C-based external ballistics library. The libballistics library is an external ballistics library written in C. The library is a rewrite of Derek Yates' original "Exterior Ballistics Library", which has has recently migrated to C++ and named libextbal2. libballistics uses many widely-accepted mathematical formulas to calculate bullet path for a given projectile. Functions are available to adjust for atmospheric conditions, conversions, and even supports stepped ballistic coefficients. The libballistics library uses autoconf and is very CPU and memory efficient, so it should run great on just about any platform, including mobile devices. The libballistics library comes with support for standard drag models (G1-G8) and calculations for most common forms of output. The solution method employs the common "3 degrees of freedom" analysis found in many commercial tools.NOTE: libballistics is developed and licensed under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License. What's New in This Release: · Added libballistics_dragForModel function · Added milspec enumerator for mil-dot conversion (USMC/Army)
