Generally, a UMD backup is between 200MB and 1.9GB, so you'll need enough free space to do this. You can compress your backup with iPSP later to save space on your Mac and your PSP Memory Stick. · To backup a UMD, first make sure iPSP recognizes your PSP. Click on the PSP icon in iPSP4 and check the iPSP Window Title; it should say "Custom Firmware" · If you know your PSP has custom firmware, but iPSP doesn't recognize this, make sure you have an 'seplugins' folder on your MemoryStick root. · Select 'Backup UMD' from the iPSP File menu. iPSP will disconnect your PSP. Press 'Select' on your PSP and switch the USB DEVICE setting from Memory Stick to UMD Disc, then reconnect your PSP in USB Mode. · Follow the iPSP dialogs and instructions presented. · NOTE: If Mac OS X informs you that an Unrecognized Disk has been inserted, click the Ignore Button. This file is included when you purchase a PSOne PSP game from the Sony Store online or via a PS3. Put a copy of this file on your Mac or PSP Memorystick and tell iPSP where to find it. iPSP4 will make a backup so you won't have to tell it again. · Select any iso, bin, mdf or other disc image file, or if you are using a PSX CD or Backup disk, select the SYSTEM.CNF file. · iPSP will try to figure out what game you are converting from it's built in database and fill in this info. If it doesn't find a match, you can enter the game's name and ID yourself. · After you click convert, iPSP will "rip" your Disc and convert it to a PSP game. In the case of a disc image file, iPSP4 will begin converting it right away.
