iMeMex Description

iMeMex is a dataspace management system iMeMex brings physical and logical data independence to the desktop, freeing users from low-level data management considerations. Unlike in relational DBMSs, our platform does not assume full control of the data, but rather manages the complex dataspace of one's personal information. iMeMex attacks several research challenges encountered building such a platform:· The definition of a unified data model for personal informaion,· The development of search and query capabilities on top of this data model,· The design of dataspace sharing capabilities,· The development of powerful yet lightweight pay-as-you-go information integration techniques. Overall, iMeMex can be seen as a new kind of information integration system and a hybrid of a search engine.NOTE: iMeMex is distributed under the Apache License V2.0.
