autosoftwareupdate Description

Automation of Apple's softwareupdate command-line utility The autosoftwareupdate utility allows the automation of Apple's softwareupdate command-line utility. The autosoftwareupdate utility checks to see if any user is currently logged in. If there is a user logged into the system, the utility will exit. If there is not a user logged into the system, the utility will check for any available software updates for the system. It will configure the installer for non-graphical installation of updates and apply available updates. In case an update will require a system restart and a user is not logged into the system, it will reboot the system.The autosoftwareupdate utility can be used in conjunction with Mac OS X Server's Software Update Server to customize and filter which updates get applied.NOTE: autosoftwareupdate is released under the Apache License, Version 2.0.
