An easy to use "visual songwriting program". Xsong is a "visual songwriting program". This means that it uses graphics and drag & drop to streamline the process of organizing and writing complete songs.When you first start Xsong, it will automatically create a library folder in your /MyMachineName/Music/Xsong/ folder (iTunes uses /MyMachineName/Music/iTunes/ ). This means that your song library can easily be backed up by copying the content of this folder to a safe place. If you are familiar with Apple products such as iTunes and GarageBand, you will find Xsong quite intuitive to use as it follows similar GUI concepts. Here are some key features of "Xsong": Concepts are specific to Xsong: · Xsong allows you to write songs by easily assembling song ideas. · Song ideas can be Text, audio, MIDI and images. · Lyrics and music can coexist within a song "structure" and saved in a simple XML file. · Structures can automatically generate midi tracks, which can be played back, edited and saved. · One Window - Stay focused on your song ideas. No more jumping between chord/rhyme dictionaries, audio recorder and midi sequencers. Xsong integrates all these under a simple intuitive environment designed specifically for songwriters. Contrarily to a DAW where looking for a specific idea involves opening one session at a time, Xsong provides access to your whole song portefolio at all time. Xsong is the songwriter partner you wish you always had. · Organize - Being organized is half the battle. Just drop your files (text, audio and MIDI) into Xsong to have them automatically tagged and organized using “quick filters” for tempo, subject matter, title, etc. Use virtual “nails” to associate ideas before turning them into complete songs. Nails provide a form of loose association, which is helpful for trying out new ideas on the fly.
