Here are some key features of "Vocalex English": · You can browse around the program by way of a perspicuous menu and see which words and exercises are available. Words are collected in sets of eight and sub-divided into different categories: Basics, Animals, Vehicles, Leisure, Geography, Home, People, Food, Nature and Society. There are 206 sets in total to choose from. If you do not want to use a ready to use set then you can choose the words yourself and create your own set. · You can choose between 12 different exercise sets to practice the words. An exercise set comprises of a number of exercises and are arranged for a specific purpose, for example a first introduction of the word, revision or spelling practice. Word practice always starts with a presentation of the selected word, thereafter a set of exercises asks the user to answer questions in order to learn the word. If you prefer, you can choose the exercises yourself by creating your own exercise set. · Firstly, each word is shown to the user with text, picture and sound in order to understand what the word means and how it is pronounced. Words are explained by way of pictures meaning there is no translation from one language to another and learning is more natural and lasting. · The first exercises where the user himself is active focus on passive vocabulary, in other words learning what a word means when you see or hear it.
