VisLM Description

Cross-platform and multi-format loudness metering to ITU-R BS.1770-1 & EBU R128 WIP VisLM is a loudness metering system fully compliant with the ITU-R BS.1770/1771 metering standard, and with the forthcoming EBU R128 recommendation as a work in progress. VisLM is available in two versions, VisLM-H (history) and VisLM-C (compact). The operation of both versions is broadly the same, although VisLM-H provides its users with a number of additional features.Both versions if VisLM are available in 2.0 and 5.1 formats. Many plug-in hosts will now accept the 5.1 version on any audio channel, however some require channel specific implementation, so the 2.0 version is supplied for standard stereo operation in these situations. The 5.1 version will work correctly with track counts from 1.0 up-to 5.1 in hosts that provide this flexibility.VisLM introduces several essential parameters for audio measurement.· True-Peak level metering (inter-sample accurate level monitoring)· Loudness Range (to help decide if and how much dynamic compression to apply)· Momentary 'instantaneous loudness' for mixing by ear· Short term loudness (3 second time window)· Program Loudness (long term integrated loudness measurement)
