Syllabus Description

Easily track your courses schedule and monitor your progress. Syllabus helps students stay organized. Track courses in progress, keep iCal in sync with schedules, and maintain assignments, notes, links and more. Here are some key features of "Syllabus": · The home view of syllabus defaults to showing the courses you have entered in the current term. From here you can add/remove courses, or double click a course to view more details about a course. The bottom action bar allows for editing the list of students and school terms, as well as selecting the current student & term. · Syllabus allows for multiple students to use the same computer to track their studies. Only one student can be the current student, but that is quickly changed from the home views action menu. · Each student can define their own school terms. A school term (sometimes called semesters or quarters) is simply a block of time that courses can be added to. By entering the school terms key dates, your iCal calendar can be kept in sync with the school calendar. Only one school term can be active at a time, but that is quickly changed from the home views action menu. · Syllabus allows for tracking professor contact information and schedules. This is very handy if you need to email or call your professor in an emergency. · Professor contact information and schedule is accessed by double clicking on a professor in the list. · Syllabus helps you keep track of all the different files that you accumulate during your studies. There are several areas where you can manage files. The main files tab is meant to store files that are used across all your courses. There are separate areas for tracking files associated with a particular course or assignment. Adding files to Syllabus is as simple as dragging them into the window, or by using the + button in the toolbar. As a configurable option, Syllabus can move the file into its own directory so it is kept in an organized place. You can access the file by double clicking in the list, or you can go to the Syllabus folder using the Finder. Never lose track of files again! · There are 2 areas for storing links associated with your studies. The links tab on the home view is designed for links that apply to all your courses. So perhaps your college url, email account, social network sites, etc. To open the site, just double click on the link. Great for those commonly accessed sites. · The at a glance view shows you a list of important items in the near future. Class times and assignments show up in the list so you can easily see what is ahead. These items are also synced to your calendar, so you can access them from the iCal application. · The course information view allows you to provide basic details about the course, and set the course schedule. Just do this once at the beginning of the term, then you will never forget your schedule! The course schedule is synced to your iCal calendar. · Each course has a special view just for the course syllabus. Most of the time this is provided as a PDF file, so simply drag the PDF into this window and then you can view it right in the application. Most professors suggest you look at the syllabus at least once a week, so now you can find it quickly and easily. · Syllabus also allows you to associate files with each course. These might be study worksheets, sample tests, extra reading material, etc. Like the overall files, just drag them into this window to add them to Syllabus, or hit the + button. Files dragged here can also be moved into the Syllabus folder itself for safe storage. Remove the clutter from your desktop and downloads folders by letting Syllabus manage your files for you. · Many courses have their own website, or there are simply links that pertain only to this course. The links tab allows you to save the links that are just for this course only. Access the site by double clicking the link. Great for class websites you visit often, or just to collect links related to your subject. · Syllabus allows you to keep track of all the assignments for a course. Assignments have due dates, and files that are associated with them. Never forget when a project is due! The due date is synced to your calendar so you are never in doubt of when things are due. · Each assignment can also contain a list of files. Like in the other file areas in Syllabus, these can be moved into into the Syllabus folder for safe keeping. To open the file, just double click on the list above. Then when you done viewing the file or changing it, just save and that is all. By letting Syllabus manage the location of your files, you never have to spend time finding your missing homework! · Some students like to take notes during class, and Syllabus handles this very well. The notes are stored by date so you can quickly find those lecture notes you are looking for. · The note editor allows you to enter text and format the text like a basic word processor, but it also allows you to drag images into the note as well. In the screenshot above, a snapshot from a website was taken and dragged into the note. This works for all kinds of images. Just drag them into the note! Limitations: · Some features are disabled.
