Sqlkit Description

Objective-C API for access to SQL data sources, designed to implement ODBC style agnosticism while providing a Cocoa feel SQLKit is a multi-protocol, open source, Cocoa styled, programming framework that aims to bring a Cocoa styled database connectivity layer to Mac OS X. The primary aim of SQLKit is to encourage the use of Cocoa for creation of enterprise class, data applications. It includes abstractions such as Connections, Commands, Tables, Rows and Cells, as well as concrete implementations of these for various database types. SQLKit also exposes an API to create additional database type plugins which can be loaded dynamically allowing programs to be somewhat database agnostic. Developmental prerequisites:· OCUnit (Embedded)· Xcode 3.2 or later· Ruby with Rake· A virtual or real SQL server for testingWARNING: SQLKit is under active development, and has prerelease alpha versions available. It is not feature complete nor is it recommended for use in production environments.
