Spheriosity Description

Free and open source application that emulates spherical geometry Spheriosity is an education software that can perform computer emulation of spherical geometry. It would allow a student to play with and discover various aspects of spherical geometry. Requirements: · Java 1.5 or later What's New in This Release: New Features: · Hotkeys refined and added for every tool · Line lengths can be found between two points now that may or may not be connected by a line · Ability to find the midpoint of a short or long line · Ability to toggle whether to display labels on points or not · Ability to change the label of a point · Ability to place a point on a circle (like being able to place a point on a line) · Parallel transported lines can be parallel transported · Made selecting points and lines a little bit easier. At the very least it is now easy (for the coders) to adjust the sensetivity this should allow us to further fine tune in the future :) · Added the ability to draw circles. · Points placed on a line can now be moved without any trouble :) · Added cancel button to dialog for selecting angles · Point and line highlightening is now changed based on the context. For example now when creating lines only points will get highlighted Bugs Fixed: · Fixed bug which allowed duplicate (and broken) measurements to be taken · Fixed a bug where one could only measure the line length once. · Fixed bug where line lengths were being reported with too many decimal places · Fixed bug when removing parallel transported lines. If removed by removing one of the points it would come up with a stack overflow error... whoops. · Dialog to enter angles for point rotation displays correctly now! · Parallel transport was broken when a point on the line being transported was also the axis of rotation for the line of transport. · Fixed other bug with parallel transport where by while sliding around a normal case of parallel transport there was one spot where the line being transported and the actual transported line would cross due to an oversight in the algorithm that checked to see if the rotation made to the second point worked correctly or not · Parallel transport was fixed to work in the case that one of the points is an axis of rotation for the line of transport. · If a file was opened, saved again and the opened any parallel transported lines would not work correctly. (Bug #2479402)
