The perl script then executes the necessary commands to change the channel through a serial connection.With SerialChannel you can now change the channel on your Directv box by simply changing the channel as you normally would on EyeTV. The perl script is the same tried and true script used on mythtv and other dvr projects but have suffered minor adjustments in order to support Mac OS X.
