ReadCube is a modern looking application that offers you the possibility to keep your documents and resources organized. The app enables you to import your PDF documents and make them searchable. You will also be able to make your own annotations and notes. Developed on the Adobe Air platform, ReadCube requires Adobe Air to be installed on your computer beforehand. Additionally, to actually use the application you must have a ReadCube account. You can easily create a ReadCube account free of charge via the app’s initial panel. To get you started, the app also provides and intro video which can be watched again at any time. The first thing you need to do in ReadCube is import PDF documents to your library. You can find new articles by performing searches on PubMed or Google Scholar. After you use the app long enough, ReadCube will begin recommending articles based on your past interests. ReadCube can also be used to read PDF documents: the app allows you to highlight certain passages, add comments and notes or browse the file by page thumbnails. In addition, you can export the current PDF to Endnote, BibTex (.bib) or RefMan (.ris) files. ReadCube comes with smart folders and you will be able to browse both your favorite list and the recently read documents. Furthermore, you will be able to create your own lists and organize the data by different criteria.
