RVPF Description

Free and open source Related Values Processing Framework The Related Values Processing Framework is being developed to help the integration of process control data historian systems. This is done by providing support for the computation, distribution and conversion of data point values between these systems. The software is written in Java, uses Jython for scripts and XML for configuration files. Except for the Java runtime, all libraries needed to use this software (dom4j, Jetty, Jython, etc.) are available with an open source license.NOTE: RVPF is licensed and distributed under the terms of the GNU Library or Lesser General Public License (LGPL). Here are some key features of "RVPF": · Free and open source software. · Flexible point dependencies behaviors. · Unlimited number of point dependencies levels. · Distributed processing. · Event triggered recalculations. · Update anywhere in included data historian. · Store and forward facilities. · Files include facility in configuration and metadata. · Property substitution in configuration and metadata. · Extensible vocabulary in RPN and Summary engines. · Replicator engine. · Rules engine support (subproject). · Transaction based processing to avoid event loss. · Version control (Subversion) support for metadata. · Microsecond time support. · Past (down to 27258 B.C.) to future (up to 31086 A.D.) time support. · Secure configuration of inter-process communications. · JMX support. · JMS support (subproject). · Simple Outline XML (SOX) support. · Step filter engine. · Resynchronizer engine. · Not OS dependent (requires Java 5.0). · Flexible extension facilities. · Multiple components in same or separate JVM. · Facilities for interfacing external subsystems via RMI, HTTP, file directories or C API. · Extensive logging and traces. · Batch processing and internal cache for improved performance. · Reasonable defaults for a large number of configuration properties. · Shared or separate configuration files. · Metadata server. Requirements: · Java 1.5 What's New in This Release: · Fixed null messages from Forwarder's Injector module. · Bundled Ivy to simplify use of 'ant setup'. · Allowed end-of-month specification in Crontab. · Fixed distribution install jar generation. · Fixed delayed restart to avoid phantom service. · Moved shared XML files into jars. · Modified distribution files name to include Subversion revision. · Fixed a potential deadlock in Forwarder's XMLInput modules. · Worked around OpenVMS JVM exception handling. · Fixed receptionist exception handling in Processor. · Dropped Preferences support in Config. · Updated TestNG to 5.5. · Improved synchronization for XML port client. · Dropped computation postponement. · Fixed a NPE in ProxyStoreServer handling of update queue. · Added SSL support to the XPC C API. · Hidden ServiceClassLoader from RMI. · Updated Subversion to 1.4.5 and JavaSVN to SVNKit 1.1.4. · Modified DateTime raw string format to be non ambiguous. · Fixed XMLInputPort module of Forwarder. · Fixed handling of SinceSyncPosition. · Added 'confirm' mode to Dispatcher module of Forwarder. · Fixed floating-point content denormalization. · Improved PipeEngine results order. · Added wait on pipe engine when KeepProcess is 0. · Made pipe engine/sink process start failure critical. · Fixed export of input sync. · Fixed JDBC 4.0 compilation errors (Java 6). · Fixed NPE when a service becomes zombie.
