QuicKeys Description

Takes the daily tasks and turns them into simple one step shortcuts QuicKeys X is the first automation utility specifically designed for Mac OS X. It takes the daily tasks that would normally require you five...six...twenty or more steps and turns them into simple one step shortcuts. Automate anything from launching programs, mounting servers, selecting menus, and running UNIX commands to typing text or shutting down your Classic environment. Whatever you do, however many steps, QuicKeys will help you save time and increase your productivity. Here are some key features of "QuicKeys": · Triggers: hot keys, sticky keys, toolbars, timers & quickeys menu · Use hot keys, which can be virtually any key combination, to trigger your QuicKeys shortcuts. · With the Sticky Key option, you can also string a series of hot keys together for even more flexibility. For example use F1->I->E to launch Internet Explorer and F1->E->M to launch your e-mail application. · Create toolbars that contain buttons for any or all of your shortcuts. Like other triggers, toolbars can be for all applications or application specific (the toolbar will only appear when the specified application is open). Toolbar tabs allow you to have one toolbar with multiple tabs - each containing different sets of shortcuts. · Set timers to activate shortcuts at a specified time on any day of the week. Timed triggers can repeat at an interval which you define. · Launch shortcuts, open the QuicKeys Editor and control playback of steps from custom menu selections in the QuicKeys Dock menu or QuicKeys System menu. · Shortcuts can be triggered automatically after a specific application opens, quits, becomes front-most or leaves the front. · Users can now directly assign shortcuts to buttons on a USB mouse, trackball, joystick, and even special keys like Eject and Mute on a keyboard. · If a user has a microphone attached to their Mac, they can assign a unique phrase for any QuicKeys shortcut, which when spoken will activate that shortcut. · QuicKeys Shortcuts can be saved as files and can now be used in any toolbar application - even on the dock. This also allows Shortcuts to be played by other applications like iCal or FileMaker. · All shortcut triggers can now be tied to a time-range qualifier. When this qualifier is grouped with another trigger users can limit that trigger's operation to specified time ranges. · Recording & Playback: With the recording feature, QuicKeys will watch and record your actions so you can play them back at any time. This feature is great for quickly automating longer, multi-step tasks. · Designate shortcuts to work only in certain applications or in all applications. · You have the option of excluding certain applications from the "All Applications" scope. · In addition to being able to set the scope for each shortcut, users can now assign subscopes for the different parts of the selected application. For example, have the F1 hot key do one thing while editing a document and have it do something else when doing print layout. · Shortcut Import & Export: Transfer your shortcuts to another computer or user. Great for utilizing the same shortcuts on multiple computers or for sharing your favorite shortcuts with friends or co-workers. · Public/Shared Shortcuts: A new way to share shortcuts has been added, giving a whole office the ability to be efficient together. Using Public Shortcuts, administrators can now publish shortcuts that users can easily subscribe to. Plus, any changes made to these Public Shortcuts will be updated on each user's machine automatically whenever QuicKeys is launched. Requirements: · Certain features require an internet connection. · 128MB total memory(256MB recommended). · 20MB of free disk space. Limitations: · 30 days trial period.
