Graphing and analysis software designed for scientists and engineers. QtiPlot - is a graphing and analysis software for scientists and engineers. According to the author of QtiPlot his purpose was to develop a free, platform independent clone of Origin. The result is still far away from it's model, but there's a "wish to" list which he is constantly working on. The program uses the GNU Scientific Library 1.6, for 2D-graphing Qwt 0.2.4, and for 3D-visualization Qwt3D 0.2.5 - these libraries will be installed by this installer. Here are some key features of "QtiPlot": · QtiPlot is cross-platform: it works on all systems supported by Qt, including Windows, Linux/Unix and Mac OS X systems. · QtiPlot is fully scriptable via Python, which gives you the possibility to use powerfull existing scientific tools, such as SciPy, thus bringing unlimited data analysis power. · OpenGL based 3D plotting: height maps, user defined functions and parametric surfaces. · Publication quality 2D plots: Error Bars, Multilayer Plots, Bar Plots, Pie Plots, Vector Plots, Contour and Image Plots. · Statistical Plots: Box/Whiskers Diagramms, Histograms. · Easy export of plots to vector formats (EPS, PS, PDF, SVG) and to various raster image formats (BMP, JPG, PNG, TIFF etc ...) · Powerful and versatile spreadsheets and calculations in column-logic. · Easy ASCII-Import/Export of single or multiple files. · Linear and nonlinear curve fitting with weighting and estimation of statistical errors of the fit-parameters. The accuracy of QtiPlot can be verified with the Statistical Reference Datasets Project of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). · Multi-peak fitting with Gaussian and Lorentzian peak profiles. · Built-in data analysis routines: statistics, sorting, FFT, data smoothing (Savitzky-Golay, FFT smoothing, and moving window average), data filtering (low/high/band pass and band block filters), convolution/deconvolution, correlation, interpolation, numerical integration/differentiation, etc... · Matrices optimized for image analysis. · Templates support: all the settings for plots (2D/3D), tables and matrices can be saved to ASCII files and restored later on for a fast editing process. · Project files based on folders, a powerful project explorer with extensive built-in features: drag and drop, searching facilities, etc... · Import of Origin 7.5 files. Requirements: · an installation of Trolltech's Qt/Mac 3.3 C++ framework (a download bookmark for an installer package of Qt/Mac 3.3.4 GPL-Edition is provided with the installer). Limitations: · You can't save your work to project files. · You can't use it for more than 10 minutes per session. What's New in This Release: · Easy import of data from Excel workbooks (.xls files) and from Open Document Format spreadsheets (.ods files). · Lowess data smoothing (thanks to Jonas B?hr). · QtiPlot now recognizes a lot of fundamental constants: the user can type pi, Pi, e, c, h, hbar, k, Na, g, etc... in a spin box and the constant is automatically calculated (see the user manual fore more details). · Implemented an Origin-like image profile plot tool. · Added two new zoom tools for horizontal and vertical zooming/panning. · Added two format options for time scales: "M" (used to display minutes as: h*60 + m) and "S" (used to display the total number of seconds). · Improved copy/paste of plot layers. · Improved export to the SVG format. · Modified the layer geometry dialog so that it operates on the layer canvas area, thus making the alignment of layers a lot easier. · Added the possibility to customize x/y zero lines in an Origin-like manner: they have the same pen as the yLeft/xBottom axes. · Fixed the behavior of data reader tools with respect to non numerical data.
