QTwIRC is a free and open-source Twitter client that will allow you to mainly use Twitter as if it were an IRC At the moment, QTwIRC does not show a user timeline, instead it shows tag search results as timeline. QTwIRC also supports a command, /join, so at first you need to join a channel specifying something tag, e.g. #qtja (current Japanese Qt geeks use this tag for chatYou will be able to use QTwIRC as an IRC client, but all posts can visible as usual tweet,Moreover, QTwIRC lets you join several channel at the same time, and it can be switched by lef t/ right arrow keys.
