Potrace Description

Free command-line utility that transforms bitmaps into vector graphics Potrace is a utility for tracing a bitmap, which means, transforming a bitmap into a smooth, scalable image. A typical use is to create EPS files from scanned data, such as company logos etc. The resulting image can then be rendered at any resolution.Potrace can currently produce the following output formats: PDF, SVG (scalable vector graphics), EPS, PostScript, Xfig, Gimppath, and PGM (for easy antialiasing). What's New in This Release: · portability: use 'test' instead of '[' in shell scripts. · test suite: run PDF checks as a separate test. · fixed logical expressions in flate.c · portability: replacements for inline and M_PI · test suite: added checks for rotation in PostScript, PDF, and PGM backends · pdf backend: added rotation · pdf backend: renamed shipcom() function · autoconf: check if getopt_long reorders its arguments. · made pseudo-random number generation thread-safe and much faster. · renamed some structures in lzw.c, main.h · portability: fixed some compiler issues for Amiga. · main.c: changed some return types to void. · made curve.c:privcurve_free_members() static. · renamed README.win as README-WIN · portability: use binary file i/o in Cygwin. · potracelib: fixed allocation bug. · potracelib_demo.c: free resources properly. · initialize unused private state to 0. · decompose.c: improved memory allocation scheme. · added "alphacurve" field to private curve structure, so that backends that don't use the public interface (such as the EPS backend) can be warned of non-conforming curves.
