OpenXSpell Description
Open Source spell checking service for Mac OS X OpenXSpell aims to bring comprehensive and flexible Open Source spell checking to the Mac OS X platform. The project was born of a frustration with the limitations of the native AppleSpell spell checking service in OS X which provides support for only a very limited number of languages.OpenXSpell makes use of the excellent Enchant library by Dom Lachowicz which makes it possible to use a number of different spell checking back-ends including Aspell, Hunspell, ISpell, and MySpell. See the Enchant site for a complete listing. This means that any dictionary that is available for use on one of the supported spell checking back-ends is now also available for use in native OS X applications through OpenXSpell.NOTE: OpenXSpell is licensed and distributed under the terms of the GNU Library or Lesser General Public License (LGPL).
