If you are the owner of a cute pet or a proud parent, you know better that to leave your Mac unsupervised. MollyGuard is a small status bar menu application that will help you make sure your computer is safe no matter who gets to play with it. The app comes with a very simple functionality: it blocks the input received from your keyboard or mouse. You will be able to use the default hotkey (Control+Option+Command+L) to either lock or unlock the keyboard or both input devices in no time. You can view the current app status by looking at the status bar icon: black for unlocked and red for locked. Form the app’s Preferences window you can easily select the icon design you want to use: dot, lock or key. The same area offers you the possibility to choose if you want to block only the input from your keyboard or you want to lock both devices. At the same time, you can decide to keep the media keys functional. If the mouse remains active, you can change the app’s status from the menubar. Otherwise, the only way to gain access to your Mac is by pressing the correct hotkey combination (Control+Option+Command+L). To be able to use the application, you must enable the access for Assistive Devices via your System Preferences window.
