Software for the localization of RNA motifs Locomotif is a free software that can be used for the localization of RNA motifs with generated thermodynamic matchers.Locomotif is a GUI-based program that allows for the visual design of RNA motifs. The graphical structures are then translated into executable programs to be used for searching a motif in a sequence (plain text or FASTA format).Construct a finished structure (with only the open 5' and 3' ends):· Use the left buttons to choose a building block. Place the first building block on the canvas by a mouse click. Add subsequent ones to available open ends or use them to start new structure parts.· Single strands can only be used in closed structures with only one open end left per structure part. Then, they can be used to prolong the 5' or 3' end or to connect either of these with different structure parts.· Use the top buttons for editing operations on the motif.Matcher generation:· Using the menu "Translation->Send XML", send the XML code to our server for translation on the server. You will obtain a bibiserv ID once compilation is finished. This may take some time!Running the matcher:· You can run the generated matcher program directly via Locomotif using the menu "Run Matcher->Sequence". Alternatively, you can use the submission page together with the obtained id.· Specify a sequence in plain text or FASTA format and upload it on the server. · · Results will be presented to you either in Locomotif or on a webpage depending on your choice of submission. Requirements: · Java 1.2.2 or later
