Lockr Description

Firefox add-on that restricts access for Flickr photos. Lockr is an add-on for Flickr. It restricts access to Flickr photos to friends or family without having them to register or login to Flickr.Lockr lets people share their content with their friends without having to register or maintain copies of their social networks on third-party sites. Lockr decouples social networking information from content sharing.Lockr provides a universally accessible address book for maintaining a single copy of a user's social network. Lockr also provides an access control scheme that makes sharing personal content easy.Sharing personal content online is surprisingly hard despite the recent emergence of a huge number of content sharing systems and sites. These systems suffer from several drawbacks: they each have a different way of providing access control which cannot be used in other systems; moving to a new system is a lengthy process and requires registration and invitation of all the friends to the new system; and the rules for access control are complicated and become more so as our networks of online friends grow.Lockr makes sharing personal content easy. Lockr provides a universally accessible address book for maintaining a single copy of a user's social network, as well as an access control scheme that makes sharing personal data easy. Lockr separates social networks from content delivery. The Lockr extension allows you to control how you share your data over BitTorrent and Flickr only. The Lockr addon is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.Requirements:· Firefox: 1.5 3.0.* What's New in This Release: · Fixed the LockrCenter login problem.
