JDNSS Description

An authoritative-only Java DNS Server JDNSS is a free and open source DNS server written in Java. It was written to be both more portable and more secure due to its implementation in Java. JDNSS is currently intended for use as a "leaf" server as it does not do iterative or recursive lookups for clients, nor does it do any cacheing. It reads zone files listed on the command line. Requirements: · Java What's New in This Release: · Implemented "$TTL" Reads bind .db files for both forward and reverse zones. · Other changes for better bind compatibility. · Should now be compatible with bind files (and system-config-bind) except for the actual named.conf file. · Changes for improved handling of EDNS queries. · Additions to /etc/init.d file for debian/ubuntu compatibility.
