JCrypTool Description

The cryptography e-learning platform JCrypTool is a free and open source cryptography e-learning platform that enables students and teachers, developers and others interested in cryptography to apply and analyze cryptographic mechanisms in a modern and easy-to-use application.Its aim is to create a new form of e-learning, by not only encouraging users to learn all about cryptography and to use it, but also to develop their own cryptographic plug-ins and extend the JCrypTool platform in various ways.JCrypTool already supports users in experimenting with various cryptographic mechanisms such as classic, symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hash values, cryptographic analysis and games.JCrypTool is successor of the well-known e-learning application for cryptography and cryptanalysis CrypTool. By default, JCrypTool contains the mature cryptographic libraries BouncyCastle and FlexiProvider (FlexiProvider is the default crypto provider). Other advanced crypto libraries are possible too; the user can select the default provider. A fall-through functionality searches top-down for an implementation of the selected crypto algorithm. So even a specialized crypto provider, which only provides a subset of crypto algorithms, can be selected as default.NOTE: JCrypTool is licensed and distributed under the terms of the Eclipse Public License.
