An audio software that allows you to either teach a piano and keyboard lesson or to broadcast a concert in real time Internet MIDI can be used in conjunction with a video conferencing program so that you can also watch and speak in real time with the musician at the other end of the connection.Internet MIDI provides you with the ability to connect one MIDI instrument to another using IP addresses and port numbers. Alternatively, if you and your Internet partner have active TimeWarp Buddy Names defined, you can connect by buddy name--similar to the way in which you connect to another user of an instant messaging program.NOTE: Making a successful connection using either method is dependent upon both computers having a broadband Internet connection that does not impede peer-to-peer UDP connections. Here are some key features of "Internet MIDI": · intelligent settings for insuring that the performance will have musical integrity · onscreen keyboard with animated keys, incremental pedals, and velocity meters · options for MIDI control of the microphone and camera features of Skype Requirements: · a broadband Internet connection with unimpeded throughput · a network configuration that allows peer-to-peer UDP communications · a computer monitor with 1024 x 768 or greater resolution that can display thousands of colors or more · USB or Firewire MIDI interface (or MIDI keyboard with direct USB connection) and · special support of acoustic pianos that have MIDI · any necessary MIDI drivers · MIDI keyboard (optional) and at least one MIDI cable (if using a USB or Firewire MIDI interface)
