HashCatalog Description

A Java based program that can find duplicate files in one or more folders, or between 2 lists of one or more folders HashCatalog is a program that can find duplicate files in one or more folders, or between 2 lists of one or more folders. ie. All of the duplicate files in the folder /Foo/Bar, and all of its subdirectories, or all of the duplicates between /Foo/Bar and /Foo/Bar2. HashCatalog supports a regular expression mask to select files to be evaluated for duplicates. The default regular expression matches all files and folders not beginning with "." This matches all non-hidden files on Unix/OSX systems. HashCatalog recurses folders by default. This is not yet selectable. In other words, HashCatalog will always recurse directories in search of files that match the regular expression supplied or the default regular expression. HashCatalog can also create an xml file containing a listing of files, along with enough information to be able to determine duplicates (size, hash, etc). This .xml file can be used to allow searches for duplicates against removable media, like DVD's and external harddrives. The xml catalog can be supplied to the list of search locations, along with individual files and folders. The hash methods supported by HashCatalog are: SHA, SHA1, MD5, SHA256, SHA384, and SHA512. Requirements: · Java 6 or later What's New in This Release: · added info for out of memory error to changelog.
