Now ou can have your favorite Futurama characters on your desktop. If any television show was canceled before its time, it had to be Fox's Futurama. The series was the brain child of the Simpson's creator Matt Groening, was set in the distant future and was to be smarter and geekier than its predecessor from Springfield. Fox never quite "got" the series however and consistently pre-empted the show with Football, moved its time slot all over the place and never really promoted it properly. As a result, many fans like myself missed quite a few episodes and when the entire series was released on DVD recently, I jumped at the chance to own the entire run.When it came time to do Volume 4, I honestly wasn't looking forward to it. I had done so many Futurama icons, I was getting bored with them. But once I started this collection, I couldn't stop. The Robots are all so visually different from each other, they were a pleasure to create. All of the humans were basically the same, and the Aliens were fun, but difficult to make work in the icon space. The Robots were a joy from start to finish and because of that, there are 12 here instead of the usual 9.This will probably be the last Futurama set for a while, I want to get working on other, different sets for the time being. That isn't to say you might not see a fun Futurama icon pop up in the Iconfactory Quick Pix from time to time. And with rumors of the show making a come back either on Cartoon Network, or on DVD, hopefully there will be new characters to iconize eventually.As always, any feedback about the icons is highly appreciated.
