FeedBlender Description
One-file script for aggregating a list of syndicated feeds into one syndication feed FeedBlender is a program that combines a number of exterior syndication feeds into one unified feed, doing so in a way that is absurdly easy to install and configure. This comes in handy at situations like conferences, where you can quickly corral a bunch of RSS feeds into a single RSS feed that conference attendees can subscribe to. FeedBlender is designed to get you up and running with a minimum of configuration.FeedBlender should work on OS X, Linux, or any other Unix. Because it relies on crontab, it doesn’t currently work on Windows.NOTE: FeedBlender is licensed and distributed under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). Requirements: · Ruby 1.8.2 or later Limitations: · FeedBlender 0.1.0 will only work with RSS; it can’t handle Atom yet. That will be fixed soon. What's New in This Release: · The RSS/Maker API is unstable right now, so we aren't using it. · fixed bug where some guids were getting double-escaped. Also added -d debug option, and smartened up the update mechanism · when the output feed is updated, it saves to a temp file and then moves it at the last minute · -u option allows feedblender.rb to uninstall itself · conditional get on feeds
