Enstaller Description

Download, build, install, upgrade, and uninstall Python packages - easily! Enthought Enstaller lets you easily manage Python packages on your system. Enstaller is based on the Easy Install module packaged with setuptools. The optional Enstaller graphical interface lets you browse your installed packages, as well as see what's available in any egg repository. This makes it easier than ever to install from the extensive library of open source components in Enthought's egg repository, and even the Python Cheese Shop. Through the graphical interface, you can view a package's metadata and check its dependencies and the modules it provides (if supported for that package) before you even download it.Enstaller also greatly simplifies managing the egg packages installed on your system. With Enstaller, you can quickly and easily browse the packages their Python interpreter uses and see at a glance what versions they have and what's available. You can choose to remove an old version you no longer use, "deactivate" an incompatible package, "activate" a different version, upgrade all of the packages you have installed (while still being able to keep the older versions), and query the system to see what you have at your disposal. The Enstaller command-line interface is also available for quick operations and scripting. Here are some key features of "Enstaller": · Browse Python egg packages in Enthought's egg repository, or any other repository, including the Python Cheese Shop. You can also browse the packages installed on your system. · Download and install packages. Enstaller automatically resolves package dependencies to ensure that packages installed have everything they need in order to be used. · Upgrade packages you currently have, along with their dependencies, as necessary. · Remove packages you no longer want. · Deactivate and reactivate packages without removing them from the system. What's New in This Release: · fixed development versions being sorted incorrectly · improved to use normalized path in MachO headers
