Deskzilla Description

Alternative Bugzilla client with interactive user interface and unique capabilities Deskzilla is an alternative Bugzilla client. Deskzilla is a desktop application with interactive user interface and unique capabilities that are a valuable addition to the feature-rich web-based Bugzilla software. Deskzilla allows you to work with bugs more effectively, expanding the set of tools that you use.Deskzilla is also available for Windows and Linux. Here are some key features of "Deskzilla":Bugzilla Front-End · Interactive InterfaceDeskzilla is a desktop application. It shows search hierarchy, bug list and selected bug on the same screen, provides you with drag-and-drop and other interactive bells and whistles. · Works OfflineOnce bugs are downloaded, you can search and modify them and create new bugs even if Bugzilla is not available. Deskzilla stores everything in local database, and synchronizes with the server later. Search and Navigation · Powerful Search with Complete Boolean LogicYou can search by any combination of filters, grouped by AND, OR and NOT operations. · Search Hierarchy & CountersDeskzilla lets you organize search queries into hierarchy. When you run "child" query, the results of its "parent" are taken, and query's filter is applied to them. You can see the number of bugs that satisfy each query. This gives you a customizable perspective on the project state. · Distribution by FieldWith several clicks, you can break down bugs by status, by assignee or by other field. Deskzilla will create and maintain a list of sub-queries - one for each field value. · Tabular DistributionSimilar to distribution by field, tabular distribution allows you to break down bugs in two dimensions by choosing parent query and two fields for the axes. · Quick SearchSelect a query as the search scope and enter words into the search field. Deskzilla will show you bugs that are in scope (that is, are shown by the selected query), and that also contain the sought words. Working with Bug Tables · Multiple Tabs with Search ResultsYou can inspect several bug tables, organized in tabs. Each tab keeps its own bug selection, which allows you to "iterate" through different query results at the same time. · Table Auto-Refresh ModeWhen table auto-refresh mode is turned on, bug table gets updated immediately with any changes, which makes it an effective monitor of a given query. When this mode is turned off, changes won't be applied until you press Refresh button, which makes it convenient to step through the table without interruptions. · Arrange Bugs in HierarchyYou can see bugs arranged in a hierarchy by blocks/depends relationship. When viewing comments in Guided Table mode, you can see additional "tree" component that provides threaded view of the discussion. Making Changes · Creating and Modifying BugsYou can create new bugs and edit existing bugs. When you save changes, you can either immediately upload them to the server, or save them as draft changes to be uploaded or discarded later. · Conflict ResolutionWhen JIRA Client uploads bug changes to server and sees that the bug has already been changed by someone else, it allows you to merge conflicting changes field-by-field. · Configurable Workflow ActionsTo quickly change bug status and relevant attributes, it's possible to apply a workflow action to a bug. A list of applicable workflow actions is available from the pop-up menu in the bug table, or in the special toolbar button. Workflow actions may be customized by editing file etc/workflow.xml. Extras · Local CollectionsYou can put bugs into Favorites or other collections with drag-and-drop. Collections work like folders or tags, allowing you to gather a set of bugs from different queries for later processing. Requirements: · Java 1.5 · Bugzilla 2.14 - 2.20 or later · RAM: 256MB (recommended 512MB). · CPU: 1GHz or faster. Limitations: · 30 days trial period. What's New in This Release: · Deskzilla complains that Reporter field cannot be uploaded. · Full download conflicts with any change. · Order of values for Hardware, OS, Milestone and other Bugzilla fields is reversed.
