DeTeXor Description

Helps you clean the mess created by the normal use of LATEX in OS X. DeTeXor is a user configurable droplet (drop onto the icon on the Finder not its window; the application must not be already running) that finds and cleans the garbage that is the byproduct of compiling a TeX file.DeTeXor moves to the trash (does not delete) the files associated to an existing TeX file. For example, it will only trash foo.aux if you set it to trash files with that suffix, if foo.tex lives in the same directory, or a subdirectory of it, and if you have permission to delete files in the that directory.However, be careful, since it trashes files please exercise caution when using it (do not drop on it folders and files you do not want it to process).If you open it by double-clicking it in the Finder you will get a window where you can specify what suffixes do you want it to handle when you drop folders and files on it.DeTeXor provides a default list that contains 35 different suffixes selectable through check boxes, but you can enter a custom list of your own.If you drop a file on it it will look for all TEX files (defined here as having suffix “.tex”) in the folder the file lives in and its sub-folders. If you drop a folder it will look for all the TEX files in it and its sub-folders.You can drop any combination of folders and files on it (the files you drop on it do not need to be TEX files). Then for each TEX file it encounters it will move to the trash of your main disk the files associated to that TEX file that have the same name and one of the suffixes you specified in the preferences.
