DVArchive Description

Will transform your Mac into a virtual ReplayTV DVArchive allows your computer to act like a "Virtual ReplayTV". You can download shows from your ReplayTV to burn to DVD/VCD, play shows from your ReplayTV right on your desktop and play shows that are stored on your computer right from your ReplayTV/TV screen. With DVArchive you can use your computer as a TV and more then this, download shows on your desktop. Here are some key features of "DVArchive": · See what shows your ReplayTV(s) have recorded right from your computer · Automatically finds your ReplayTVs · Download shows from your ReplayTV to your computer to watch, archive, burn to DVD/VCD, etc · Automatic support for Replay 4xxx and 5xxx Series units · Turn your computer into a virtually unlimited capacity ReplayTV show archive · Schedule automatic downloads of shows from your ReplayTV to your computer · Schedule automatic purging/deleting of shows you don't like but which your ReplayTV keeps recording · Watch previously downloaded shows OR watch shows directly from your ReplayTV without having to download them first · Control your ReplayTV remotely (turn it on, off, delete shows, etc) · Manage your ReplayTVs photos · Control your ReplayTV from your computer · View and Search TV Listings · Schedule new recordings on your ReplayTV (ReplayTV 5xxx series only) · View lists up the upcoming recordings (and conflicts) for your ReplayTVs · Access these listings, schedule recordings, schedule downloads, etc via a web browser from anywhere in the world · Has a clean interface that allows you to see and use all your ReplayTVs from one place What's New in This Release: General fixes: · Occasional lockups (aka "Grey Screen Of Death") should be fixed now (I was not able to duplicate them, but traced what I'm pretty sure the cause was down and fixed). · A bug that would result in the DVArchive server not starting at DVA startup has been fixed. Due to the order of the options and when various threads in DVA ran would affect when this could happen. It was somewhat random and really depended on the timing of the host computer whether things got setup before or after the server startup was attempted. · When a show downloaded into DVA was deleted from within DVA, the shows .bak file was not deleted - now it is. · Special Startup and Shutdown scheduled tasks were not being executed at the proper time and were being executed as normal tasks (which they are not). This has been fixed (Startup tasks are executed once, at start, Shutdown tasks are executed once, at shutdown and normal tasks are executed based on their date/time. · A problem with being able to deselect a previously selected download on the Downloads status tab via the CTRL+CLICK mouse manuver has been fixed. · The Shutdown scheduled task would not remember the minutes to wait for downloads to complete unless both the Wait for download to complete and stop further downloads check boxes were set (when editing the action). This has been fixed -- as long as the Wait for downloads to complete is checked, the # of minutes is correctly saved. · When the Shutdown scheduled task would shutdown and there were pending downloads, a dialog would popup asking yo to confirm shutdown DVA (because there were such downloads). This has been fixed (shutdown will now always occur after any delays you may have supplied have elapsed). · The option in the Shutdown schedule task to stop any new downloads has been removed. There were many dependencies that are difficult to correctly resolve as well as others that I honestly cannot find a reliable way around. Removing this also "fixes" a problem when this option was used that could lead to the DVA shutdown task never completing and no downloads ever completing either. · When the shutdown scheduled task was set to stop further downloads and there were >1 pending downloads (in addition to any active ones), DVA would stall forever. DVA would stop additional downloads from starting, but then waited for the download count to reach 0. If there were pending downloads, they would never start (and never finish) so the download count would never go to 0 and DVA would never shutdown. Now, when the shutdown task runs and if it was set to stop any additional downloads, · In V3.0, when adding a new storage path to a storage area in the Storage tab of the DVArchive properties, the new path would appear to be inserted before any selected path (if you had one selected), but after you pressed OK, it would go to the bottom. It now correctly stays where you have inserted it. · DVA Would allow you to select >1 task on the Tasks tab of the DVA GUI, but would not actually work on anything other than the first selected item. DVAs GUI will now only allow you to select one task at a time to correctly match the internal processing. · Display of ReplayZone based recordings has been corrected (previously there were identified as "Themese". · A bug in the listed number of visible shows in the DVArchive status bar has been corrected. The bug only showed if you clicked on a DVArchive channel, then clicked on the category the channel was in. This resulted in the Visible show could being 0 when in fact it should be at least as large as the channel first clicked on. · DVArchive should now properly detect multiple DVArchives running on the same computer (different IP addresses). Previously, DVArchive could not see the other instances of DVArchive running on the same computer. TV Related Bug Fixes: · Smiley face icons (indicating a TV shows episode was already recorded on a ReplayTV) were missing tooltips -- they are now there (GUI and Web) · Attempts to schedule recordings that have quotes/apostrophes in the show titles would fail, this has been fixed. (The ReplayTV encodes the quote characters oddly and they were not being twisted enough for the RTV before I fixed it). · Channels that appear more than once in a listing with different channel #s are now both visible with listings. In V3.0, only the one with the lower channel # included TV listings. This situation is most common with digital cable lineups where lower channels are still analog and upper ones are digital versions of the lower ones (exact same channel, just carried digitally). · If a channel # appears more than once when the channel listings are fetched from the listings server (happens for some "part time" networks that share a channel #), DVA will automatically mark the second (third, fourth, etc) channel as hidden. You can override this. · DVArchive would send upcoming TV emails when there was nothing to report. If you had told DVA to only send email on conflicts but you had no conflicts, DVA would send email anyway, but with nothing in it. This has been fixed. If there is nothing to report, you will not receive an email. · DVAs upcoming TV analyzer would ocasionally incorrectly select the proper instance of a recuring show based recording if there were several back to back episodes of the show. This is fixed. · DVAs upcoming TV analyzer would occasionaly consider two shows in conflict when they were not if they were back to back (time wise, not necessarily channel # wise) and the earlier one had "before recording" padding. This is fixed. · If email was disabled on the email tab of the DVA properties but nightly Upcoming TV email was enabled on the TV Guide tab, you would get an error every night. DVA will now correctly check the Email setup first and ensure it's enabled before bother to check if the TV Guide calls for any email. · Occasional problems in timing resulted in not getting the nightly TV Listing update. That has been fixed. · If you had a ReplayTV on your network with no scheduled recordings, it would screw up the Upcoming Shows analysis, resulting in nothing being displayed. This is fixed. · Previously, if a specific episode of a show was recorded via a recuring show recording and the episode was later repeated in the same/similar time slot, DVA would report it as being recorded again. In reality, as long as the show is still on the ReplayTV, it will not be recorded again. DVA now reflects this in the scheduling analyzer. · When viewing the scheduled recordings for a TV Show (Right click over the show that is going to be recorded and pick the "Show Recording Details", the month of the show was shown incorrectly (usually as 0). It is now correct. · Changes to the Recordings on a ReplayTV would sometimes not result in a rebuilding of the UpcomingTV listings. They should be reliably built now. · The upcoming TV listings now propertly handle At or Around processing for recurring show based recordings. Previously, DVA considered a recurring show to be recorded as long as it was plus or minus 60 minutes from the original scheduled time. In reality, it should be +/- one slot (recording).
