Cinematize Pro HD is a well-crafted software solution for extracting and converting Blu-ray disks and AVCHD videos for both the Mac OS X and Windows platforms. The application uses a hardware-accelerated decoding engine to extract videos without loss of quality. In other words, Cinematize Pro HD preserves the same HD quality, length and size of the original video. Furthermore, a great advantage of using Cinematize Pro HD is that you can use it to extract only specific portions of the original clip. Thus, you can create tens of small clips (of a user-defined length) from the large HD video on your Blu-ray disks. Cinematize Pro HD comes with an intuitive and uncluttered user interface split into five different tabs: Segment, Video, Audio, Subtitle and Output. From the first tab, you can preview the videos you’ve added, check several details about the movie, and select the end / start point of segments. Furthermore, the right pane of the Segment tab displays the list of the segmented clips you want to extract. You can view their total length, add / remove or edit segments and add chapters. The Video tab enables you to select the desired video stream, decoding type, MPEG-2 and H.264 decoding modes, intermediate file codec and to select the compression type by clicking on the “Options…” button. From the Options window, you can make the video interlaced and choose the HDV 720p, 1080i or 1080p preset. In the next tab, you can make several audio adjustments to the converted videos. For instance, selecting the audio stream, the decoding, downmixing and dynamic range types, as well as the sample size and volume gain value in decibels. Another attribute of HD videos that you can control is the subtitles. You have the possibility to change the subtitle stream, decoding and timecode file format via the Subtitle tab of the main window.
