Small application for biological translation and back-translation. The central dogma of biology is that a sequence of DNA nucleotides is copied to a seqeunce of mRNA nucleotides that serves as a template for protein production. The basic concept is essential for even a rudimentary knowledge of biology.Central Dogma is meant to be a simple tool to experiment and practice this concept from a high school level and up.For instance, the effect of frame shifts and point mutations on protein sequence can be seen instantly. The statistics panel provides a way to get a quick look at the makeup of a protein.Central Dogma is available for download free of cost. However, Central Dogma may not be redistributed without explicit permission from the author. What's New in This Release: · Essentially a complete rewrite. · Sequences are now displayed in configurable columns. · Counters on sides of sequences. · Faster and more responsive editing regardless of sequence length. · Colored text for nucleotide name, reading frame, and amino acid type. · Colors are configurable. · Statistics are calculated nearly instantly, regardless of sequence length. · Translation algorithm is much faster ( O(n) time with sequence length). · Highlighting text will show position captions.
