Ccdtovcd Description

Allows the creation of a digital photo album stored on a cd using the VCD or SVCD format Ccdtovcd allows the creation of a digital photo album stored on a cd using the VCD or SVCD format that can be viewed on a salon DVD player. Stunning quality pictures can be created using high resolution mpeg stills (704x576).Ccdtovcd is unique amoung the digital photo album creation tools as it produces a fully navigational tree-like sequence of independent MPEG still images, rather than a long movie of changing pictures. Ccdtovcd provides an easy-to-use java-based (swing) graphical user interface that steps through the process of creating a digital photo album from gathering pictures to burning a cd. It relies on various freely available products to perform some operations that would otherwise be time consuming to implement. Here are some key features of "Ccdtovcd": · collect digital pictures (jpg, gif, png) and build a tree-like view of a photo album. In this paradigm, folders are menus and leaves are pictures · perform basic operations on pictures such as trim, crop, rotate and add anti-aliased text · encode pictures to MPEG-1 (for VCDs). · generate an XML stream that can be used by VCDImager · interface with VCDImager to produce a burnable file · interface with CDRDAO to burn the file created by VCDImager Requirements: · Java VM 1.4.2 · VCDImager (for VCD/SVCD authoring) · Cdrdao (for Disk-At-once Burning) What's New in This Release: This release includes the following changes: · Added a second text field to the menu editor, so that you can have a title and menu text in different fonts, colours etc. · Added an option to generate text for the menu automatically to specify which button should be pressed to view which sub-menu. This works if you only have a few sub-menus to list, but I am not sure what will happen if you try to use it with lots of items in the menu. · Fixed a bug that meant that trying to specify the cdrdao driver to be used resulted in an error message - this was especially a problem for using the program under windows because I could not find out how to specify a default driver for cdrdao, as can be specified under linux. · I have included binary Windows distribution that includes the binaries for cdrdao and vcdxbuild and uses a conventional windows installer.
