In attempting to find advertisers for DashboardWidgets, iCompositions, and MacDesktops.net, I always found it handy to be able to quote the effective CPM rate the potential advertiser would be getting if they paid the set price for the set number of impressions.The CPM rate is the cost of one thousand displays of an ad. Many sites charge on a CPM basis, asking for, say, $10 to display an ad 1000 times. However, we do it monthly basis, showing the ad an unlimited number of times for a set monthly fee. Either way, it's nice to be able to tell the client how much money they're saving.Earlier today, I decided to try out Javascript for the first time and make a simple page that would calculate the effective CPM rate as I typed it. And then I said to myself, why not create a widget to do that?I have no doubt very few people will ever have an occasion to use this widget and the great design by themagicdough is definitely wasted on this one but I thought it couldn't hurt to have at least one widget on the books as I run a widget site.
