Apple Event Data - Access binary contents as characters from AppleScript Apple Event Data is a free AppleScript OSAX extension that will add the following commands that deal with data in scripting:· the same data of (Apple Event Data)· do data size of (Apple Event Data)· joined data of (Apple Event Data)· the raw id of class (Apple Event Data)· the class of raw id (Apple Event Data)· do AEFlattenDesc (Mac OS X specific)· do AEUnflattenDesc (Mac OS X specific)· do AESizeOfFlattenedDesc (Mac OS X specific)For example, the the same data of command is useful if you need to deal with contents of some binary data. In that case, if you set the type to string ("TEXT") you will be allowed to access the contents as characters.Installation: Move (or copy) the OSAX extension into /Library/ScriptingAdditions folder. (If that folder does not exist, make it first by yourself.)
