A software for the teaching and learning of factorisation algebraic expressions. Software for the teaching and learning of factorisation (factoring) of algebraic expressions, especially trinomials using the "cross" method. Students can practise on the "cross" method which provides extensive explanations and guidance, especially useful for beginners. It includes formulas for factorising perfect squares and difference of two squares.Practices with simple sums to help understanding before actual practices.Can generate hundreds of sums for drills (up to 200 per session). Step by step guide for beginners to ensure they get the correct answers. It marks the sums automically and can print a detailed report after each session. Here are some key features of "AlgeFactors": · A step by step interactive guide is provided to help the student do the factorisation if he has difficulties. The guide does not do the sum for the student but guides him along, providing feedback on his working. · A student can key in his own sums and let the guide help him do it. This feature can help the student do his homework. · AlgeFactors is able to accept nearly all correct alternative answers. · This is very important as the students can be confused if a correct sum is marked as wrong. · It allows two players to compete with each other on one computer, reducing the number of computers required for a class by half. Each player can do the sums at his own pace. · It prints two separate detailed reports, each showing the sums done by the individual player. Requirements: · 6.2MB HD space. · 31MB RAM. · Screen resolution 800 x 600 at 16 bits or better. Limitations: · The demo mode lets you test all the features of the software but it will automatically quit after a while and will expire in 30 sessions.
