xcplay is an ncurses interface to XMMS. xcplay is a XMMS plugin which acts like an ncurses interface to XMMS. The UI is a clone of cplay, but using XMMS as a backend instead of console players, running either as a GUI-stripped daemon or on a virtual X server (Xvfb).Advantages over cplay include seeking for many more formats, detachment, unlimited instances, and console player independence.Requirements:· XMMS· ncurses· GTK+Installation:xcplay has been tested with xmms-1.2.7, xmms-1.2.8 and xmms-1.2.9.To install, just type:makemake installGetting virtxmmsIf you want to patch and build xmms so it can run without an X display, download the separate virtxmms package from sourceforge.Running xmms on the virtual X server Xvfb is deprecated, and not generally recommended.
